What is Speedwave
Speedwave is an open-source (Apache 2.0) software development lifecycle (SDLC) platform designed for engineering teams. It coordinates AI assistance across the entire development cycle: requirements planning, task breakdown, code implementation, AI-assisted code review, automated browser testing, delivery tool integration, and technical documentation. AI accelerates execution while engineering teams retain oversight and decision-making authority.
While Speedwave utilizes Claude Code as its runtime foundation (comparison with Claude Code), it provides provider flexibility. Workspaces configure independent model providers: Anthropic, local model servers, or OpenRouter. Local endpoints ensure proprietary source code and prompts never leave your infrastructure. Review How Speedwave works for architectural details.
Speedwave distributes as a single self-contained application with an embedded container runtime. It provides two user interfaces powered by a unified execution engine: an accessible Desktop chat application for cross-functional team members and a terminal CLI for developers. Both drive identical container topologies. See Install Speedwave to get started.
