# Office documents

A report, a spreadsheet, or a slide deck is often the actual deliverable, not the code behind it. Speedwave's office worker opens a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, edits or rebuilds it, and hands back a finished file, no exporting through a separate tool and no account to connect first.

[This is a beta feature: turn on **Beta features** in the Speedwave tray-icon menu](/docs/guides/beta-features/), then enable **Office documents** per project from the integrations list.

## What Speedwave can do with a document

Ask it to summarize a contract, restructure a spreadsheet, or turn a set of notes into a slide deck, and it works with the file directly rather than describing what you should change by hand. It can also convert between formats, add a native chart to a workbook or deck, and combine or split PDFs.
**Note:** Scanned or image-only PDFs are out of scope: this feature reads text layers, not pictures of text.

Generated files land in a dedicated folder inside your project, and the worker never reaches the network, so nothing about a document you're editing leaves your machine.
